Stanley (Skip) Harold Coleman, 78, passed away after a brief illness on May 6, 2022. He was born in Meriden, CT on October 27, 1943, the son of the late Stanley Coleman Sr. and Rose Coleman (Sadowski). Skip attended Middletown High School and worked at Guida's Dairy in New Britain, CT for over 50 years until he retired in 2018 to spend more time with his family. He will forever be remembered as the "milkman".
Skip was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing and hunting. He spent hours fishing for trout in Connecticut at the Salmon River. He also enjoyed saltwater fishing on Long-Island Sound and some special fishing trips to Bermuda and Florida. He loved hunting with his brother Donald (Don) who predeceased Skip and his many cousins and friends. Skip was a dedicated sports fan and loved all sports but was particularly devoted to the New York Yankees and Washington Football Club (Redskins). All his friends will know him for his jokes, his silly banter and he always loved to make people laugh.
He is survived by his daughter Carolyn Coleman and her son and Skip's best friend Landon who lived with him in Meriden, CT. He is also survived by his son Christopher (wife Candice) and his grandchildren Tyler and Caitlin who live in Bermuda and many other extended family members.
Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday May 11th from 4 to 7pm at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St, Meriden, CT 06450. A funeral service will begin at 7pm. A private burial service for family will be held at St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
