Stanley E. Shea "Stan", 88, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2022 in Manchester, NH.
He was born October 7, 1933 in Wilton, NH, son of the late John Shea and Katherine (Davis) Shea.
Stan grew up in Wilton graduating from Wilton High School. He joined the Navy during the Korean War. After the Navy, he became very involved with the American Legion serving in many roles including State Commander. Stan was an avid fisherman and hunter and he also enjoyed boating and waterskiing. He loved sports and refereed soccer for over 50 years and coached a Milford, NH high school soccer team to win the State Championship in the late 1970's. He devoted over 40 years as co-owner of Pine Acres Campground in Raymond, NH building it from the ground up. He loved talking to people and knew someone everywhere he went.
Stan is survived by his daughter, Maureen K. Fitton and her husband Curt W. Fitton of Raymond, NH, his son, Michael J. Shea and wife Kathryn Shea of Temple, NH, 4 grandchildren, Katherine E. Scott of Chester, NH, Danielle B. Maldonado of Ernul, NC, Curt J. Fitton (CJ) and Nicholas S. Fitton of Raymond, NH and 5 great-grandchildren. Also, survived by his beloved sister, Sally Young of Wilton, NH, a brother, Malcolm Shea of Milford, NH, a previous step-daughter, Samantha Shea, several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother, Robert Shea.
A calling hour will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2022 from 10:00-11:00 AM at the Brewitt Funeral Home, Raymond, NH.
The funeral service with military honor will follow on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
Stan loved wearing his jeans (dungarees as he called them) so to honor that please dress casual.
Private burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wilton, NH.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to CHAD, Children's Hospital at Dartmouth in Lebanon, NH where his great-grandson Oliver Scott is battling cancer.
