Stanley Murrel Cecil, 72, husband of Sheila (Howard) Cecil passed away on Thursday, July 25th at his home. He was born in Malaga, KY, on July 26th, 1946, to the late Edmond and Edna Spencer Cecil. Prior to being a retired home builder of 20 years, he also worked for Rockwell International and the Blue Grass Army Depot. He served his country in the U.S. Army in Vietnam from October 8, 1967 to September 19, 1968 and was a Purple Heart Recipient for wounds received in battle. He was a member of Central Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife of 50 years, he is survived by two children Anthony Murrel (Autumn) Cecil and Kristy Lynn (David) Aldridge; seven grandchildren, Lauren Makenzie (Ryan) Grigsby, Keaton Aldridge, Karlee Aldridge, Lynnlee Aldridge, Hallee Kate Cecil, Haddon Cecil and Harper Cecil; one brother, Roger (Linda Kay) Cecil; two brothers-in-law, Bob Morris and Harold Howard; two cousins, Stan Mullins and Anna Lois Scigliano; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Bessie R. (Bob) Morris, one brother, Jess D. (Carletta) Cecil; two aunts, Irene Spencer and Alice Mullins; and one uncle, Jess Spencer.
Services will be at 1:00 PM, Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Central Baptist Church by Rev. Anthony Murrel Cecil. Burial will be in Winchester Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Larry Morris, Gary Morris, Mike Cecil, Bryan Howard, Keaton Aldridge, Haddon Cecil, Zach Morris, and Ryan Grigsby. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jim Wilhoite, Vaughn Wilson, Harold Howard, Roy Burns, Dale Anderson, Wayne King, Marvin Haggard, Craig Bridgewater, David Cantrell, Dr. Bennett Asher, Dennis Brooks, and Chad Maggard.
Scobee Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be Friday, July 26, 2019 from 5:00-8:00PM at Central Baptist Church.
