Stanley J. Anderson Sr. 88, of Camano Island went home to the Lord on September 23, 2021.
He was born on August 29,1933 in Fergus Falls, Minnesota to John and Mae (Shol) Anderson. Stan spent many summers working and playing with his cousins on the Shol Family farm. His teenage years found him in Chicago with his father building homes before they moved to Seattle where he met the Love of his Life, Marilyn Douglas. The couple married on September 13, 1956 and shortly after he was drafted in the U.S. Army where he was stationed in Germany for two years.
After the military, Stan and Marilyn started their new lives in Seattle and welcomed twin girls, Debbie & Tammy then a son Stanley Anderson Jr two years later. During this time, Stan worked different jobs to support his family, such as a supervisor at a bakery and a laborer with Peter Kiewiett pouring Concrete all along I-5.
In 1966, the family moved to Camano Island where Stan started his own business building custom homes. Stan took great pride and satisfaction in building and remodeling homes on the island over his thirty year career. He created many friendships along the way with his kind demeanor and great sense of humor. In his spare time, he enjoyed tinkering on projects around the house and wood working in the shop. Stan and Marilyn enjoyed spending time outdoors; hiking in the mountains, picnics at the beach, and camping with their grandkids in their Escapade motorhome. Together they led by example teaching the importance of family. That remained his greatest source of pride and he often spoke of how lucky and blessed he was. They are comforted to know that he is reunited with his one and only, Marilyn of 57 years.
His wings were ready but our hearts weren't and he will be deeply missed.
