Sophie Stover
Sophie was born in Kinney, MN on June 30, 1926, to Arse and Stoja Dicklich. Following high school graduation Sophie moved to Seattle and worked at various jobs, ultimately retiring after 25 years working for the Navy. She met Richard (Dick) Stover in 1958, and they married shortly thereafter. Sophie and Dick enjoyed many happy years together before his passing in December, 2004. Dick had a pilot's license and in their younger years he and Sophie enjoyed flying to numerous destinations on the west coast. They also loved flying back to MN to spend time with Sophie's family and friends and to PA to visit with Dick's relatives.
In addition to Dick, Sophie was predeceased by her parents; sisters Julia, Mamie, Angela and Ann; brothers Eli, George, Nick and Milan. She is survived by numerous nephews and nieces; stepsons, Richard and Robert; and several close friends.
Sophie was a joy to know and will be truly missed--her sense of humor and laugh were infectious. All that knew Sophie also knew that she did it "her way". As you can imagine, Sophie's knowledge and history were extensive?nearly 95 years of life experiences that will hopefully be remembered by many.
Pursuant to Sophie's wishes to be buried with Dick, a graveside service will take place at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA on Tuesday April 13, 2021, at 12:30 PM.
