Simone Dunn Brookshire age 87, passed away peacefully at her home with her husband by her side on Wednesday, October 30, 2024. Mrs. Brookshire was born in Manchester, GA to the late Charlie and Annie Dunn. Simone was a member of Surfside Presbyterian Church, retired from the Department of Defense as a computer software engineer. She served as a Sunday school teacher, church pianist, chairman of Missions, church secretary and a choir member over the years. Mrs. Brookshire was also an English as a second language teacher, president of Toastmasters Club 64 and the area governor at Ft. Belvoir, VA. In her later years she enjoyed working as an artist and painting. In addition to her husband Charles of 57 years, she is also survived by a son; Stanley J. Brookshire wife Brandy and daughter Madison of Boston, Mass., a daughter; Ginger Gayle Brookshire of Richmond, VA, grandsons; Kyle and Cody Brookshire. A Funeral Service will be held at 3PM on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. A Graveside Service will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at Park Hill Cemetery in Columbus, GA. An online guestbook is available at www.goldfinchfuneralhome.com.
