Silas Abner Bryan, Jr., 92, of Mesquite passed away at home on February 3, 2024.
Silas was born on September 30, 1931 in Renner, Texas to Silas and Rebecca Miles Bryan. Silas graduated from Plano High School. He served in the United States Air Force as a crew chief working on airplanes. Silas graduated in May of 1959 from Texas A&M as an electrical engineer. He worked for several companies before starting an RV dealership in Mesquite, Texas in 1967. He owned the dealership, Mesquite Camper Sales, for over 30 years before retiring. Silas enjoyed traveling the country with his wife, Lila Mae, and traveling overseas with cruises every other year.
Silas was a faithful elder in the Living Christ Church in Greenville, Texas and later in the Living Christ Church in Dallas, Texas, and later in the Living Christ Fellowship in Mesquite, Texas. God blessed him mightily for his loyal and faithful service.
Silas is preceded in death by his parents and five sisters, Grace, Ruby, Ruthie, Dorothy, Bette, and his brother, James; and daughter, Angie Zayas.
He is survived by his wife, Lila Mae Bryan, his daughter, Phyllis Hazard and husband Tony of Mesquite, Texas; his son Silas Bryan, III and wife Carol of Royse City, Texas; son Patrick McMullen and wife Phyllis of Pahrump, Nevada; grandchildren, Keith Dawson, Jaci Harrison and husband Adam, Rayna Bennett and husband Craig, Michael McMullen, Maryanne Chamness; great-grandchildren, Ember Smith, Silas Harrison, and Malakai Chamness.
A visitation for Silas will take place from 6 - 8 PM at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, Texas 75243.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, February 10, 2024 in Restland's Memorial Chapel, sharing the same address.
