Shirley Ann Vincent was born on Wednesday, November 12, 1947 in Teague, Texas to the late B.H. (Booger) McCaig, Sr. and Bessie Brown McCaig. Mrs. Vincent passed away on Friday, May 28, 2021 at The Hospice of East Texas in Tyler after a long battle with COPD.
Shirley was a long time resident of Teague, Texas and graduated from Teague High School in 1966. She was employed in the healthcare industry in medical records at Parkview Regional Hospital in Mexia, Texas. In 1990, she relocated to Jasper, Texas and worked at the Jasper Memorial Hospital and later for Dr. Gilliland at Complete Healthcare Services. After retiring, she moved to Van, Texas in 2019 to be closer to relatives and the healthcare facilities in Tyler. She was a member of the Church of Christ, and her fried chicken was always a favorite at family gatherings.
She is survived by one son, George W. Vincent, Jr. and wife Gina of Irving, Texas; two sisters, Zela Peel of Van and Ruby Stubbs of Teague; one brother B.H. (Mac) McCaig, Jr. and wife Nelda of Jacksonville; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Vincent was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Vincent, Sr.; her brother, Ben McCaig; one niece, Jennifer Peel; one nephew, David McCaig; and her parents.
The family will have a private service at Greenwood Cemetery in Teague.
