Shirley Miller Land, age 87, of Castle Shannon, PA, on January 5, 2017 passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Shirley was the beloved wife of the late William M. of 55 years.
Survived by her four daughters, Donna (Floyd) Vissat, Gail (Dan) Simmons, Lisa (Edward) Bak, Mary Carol (Bill) Orland, and her sister, Carroll Miller. Grandmother of 10 grandchildren, Kirk, Annie, Landon, Logan, Tyler, Alexis, Cory, Ryan, Rebecca, Rachel and also 5 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her 3 infant children, Billy, Mark and Leslie, and a sister, Joan Shaughnessy.
Shirley was a 1947 graduate of Elizabeth Seton HS, studied voice and sang with the South Hills Chorale and St. Anne's Choir. She's remembered as 'The Best Damn Mother a Girl Could Ask For.'
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made in Shirley Land's name to the Dementia Society of America.
