Our beloved mother, Shirley Ann Easley Hamm, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2022. Her nine-year battle with Multiple Myeloma ended as she entered into glory and was fully healed. She was the perfect example of a daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her love of family, gentleness and care will be missed. Her legacy is on solid ground and will live on.
She was born to George and Margaret Easley in Good Pine, LA on April 15, 1935. She graduated from Dallas Adamson High School in May, 1953, and married Clyde E. Hamm on November 27th. Together they had 3 sons and a daughter; Ron, Steve, Donna and Roger. Their marriage and romance lasted 51 years until his passing on May 11, 2005.
Shirley was never one to sit idle staying constantly busy. She enjoyed traveling, quilting, sewing, jigsaw puzzles, playing cards and dominoes, especially with all her grandchildren, but her greatest joy was family gatherings. She loved her church, Shiloh Terrace Baptist Church, and her Friendship Sunday school class. The church was her second home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Cecil Easley, grandson Keith Hamm, and great grandson Hayes Horner. She is survived by her children Ron and wife Debbie, Steve, Donna Horner and husband Tommy, Roger and wife Liz, sister in-law Sarah Hamm and 11 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration service will be held Monday, July 11th at Shiloh Terrace Baptist Church at 9810 La Prada Rd., Dallas, TX. Viewing will commence at 9:00 am with the service to follow at 10:00 am. A private burial will follow at Laurel Land in Oak Cliff.
