Shirley Ann (Perry) Farrington went to Heaven at age 91. She was married to Floyd Wesley Farrington, who passed away in 2013. They were married nearly 66 years. They lived in Bronte for over 35 years.
Shirley was a homemaker and helped Floyd as a bookkeeper, travel companion, and also helped with ranching responsibilities. She packed their RV and took many trips with their grandchildren. One of their favorite places to take them was Lake Amistad. Shirley traveled with Floyd on business trips to Egypt, Taiwan, Jamaica, and many other places.
She loved supporting her girls' activities and grandchildren's sports. She was a member of Bronte First Baptist Church.
Shirley is survived by her two daughters, Kathy and husband, Sid McCown of Robert Lee, TX; Linda and husband, John Dagenhart of Blackwell, TX. She is survived by seven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren: Ron and wife Tracy with their son, Sheldon McCown of Nacogdoches, TX; Jayson and wife Lindsay with their boys, Payte, Jake and Ethan Treadaway of Glen Rose, TX; Stanley and wife Carren with their children, Nathan, Natalie and Sydney Treadaway of Water Valley, TX; Lee and wife Mandi with their child, Kynlee McCown of Robert Lee, TX; Keith and wife Jamie with their children, Tyler and Cooper Treadaway of Huffman, TX; Dan and wife Jan with their children, Gage and Cote McCown of Stanton, TX; Chrissie and husband Wesley Robinson, Camron Bettis, Spencer and Preston Robinson of Midland, TX.
Shirley has two surviving sisters, Betty Graves of McCamey, TX and Nancy Melton and husband John of San Angelo, TX. Surviving sister-in-law, Myra Denton of Cedar Park, TX; and brother-in-law, Jay Farrington and wife Carole of San Angelo, TX.
Preceding her in death is her husband, Floyd Wesley Farrington; her sisters, Phyllis Collins and Gen Anderson; brothers, Jack Perry, Clyde Perry and Rex Perry. Her parents, Dewey Perry and Marguerite (Legate) Perry.
Visitation will be held from 9am to 8pm, with family time from 6pm to 8pm, Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at the funeral home. Services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Bronte at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, April 28, 2021. Services are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home/ Bronte.
Memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association, Hospice of San Angelo, or a charity of your choice.
