Shirley Ann Kujawa, 84 years old of Niles, passed to her rest July 1, 2021 at her home after a very brief illness. She was born June 24, 1937 in Niles, the daughter of Shelby Dale and Marjorie N. (Reed) Bolinger. She graduated from Niles High School and took some continuing education classes and worked as a secretary for Tyler Refrigeration of Niles and for Dr. D.A. Combs Chiropractor in Niles and finally in the office of an Appraiser. She later retired to be a stay-at-home-Mom, for her family.
Shirley was married March 28, 1958 in Niles to Jack LaVerne Kujawa and Jack passed on December 7, 2020. Survivors are their children, Pamela Ann Putnam of Cassopolis and Dale Wayne (Judy) Kujawa of South Bend. There are four grandsons, Don Putnam, Michael (Melissa) Putnam, Dale W. Kujawa, Jr., and Dustin Kujawa. There are five great-granddaughters, Sarah, Kimberly, Chelsea, Clare and Alexia. Family who have passed are her parents, her beloved husband Jack and her son-in-law Timothy Putnam.
Shirley was a loving mother and a proud grandmother. She liked having dogs as her house pets. She loved birds, squirrels, crows and any animal that she could help. She liked to put puzzles together, enjoyed many vacations to Las Vegas to see the white tigers. She liked to roller skate, but, one thing was very special to her, that was when she drove her 'Feiro' car, that her husband bought for her on her 50th birthday.
Family and friends may gather on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 from 4:00-7:00 PM at the Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, 26863 West Main Street, Edwardsburg. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00-11:00 AM, where there will be a prayer offered, before going to Adamsville Cemetery for Shirley's final rites and her interment by her husband Jack in the family grave plot.
Arrangements are by the Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, Edwardsburg.
