Mrs. Sheila Jean Lawler Stephens, age 78, of Rome, GA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at her residence.
Mrs. Stephens was born in Rome, GA on October 9, 1946, daughter of the late R.C. Lawler and the late Ruby Grissom Lawler. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Royce Byron "Buddy" Stephens, Jr., and her brother Derral Lawler. Sheila was a graduate of Coosa High School. Prior to her retirement, she worked at JC Penny's and then Heritage Honda. She loved taking care of her family, her family was her world.
Survivors include her children, Brian Stephens (Diann), Cave Spring, and Kristi Stephens Lane (Charles), Hiram; 5 grandchildren, Jordan Dean (Chad), Matthew Lane, Lauren Stephens, Chase Lane, and Andrew Stephens (Sarah); 3 great-grandchildren, Kenzie Dean, Maddie Dean, and Nehemiah Stephens; her siblings, LaFayne Lawler, Gail Neal, and Dwight "Moody" Lawler (Shelia); her brother-in-law, Larry Stephens (Sheila); numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at 2:00pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel, with Rev. Matthew Bowden officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, from 12:00pm until the hour of service, at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel.
