Sheila M. Hughes passed away unexpectedly and suddenly at BMC on February 16, 2021.
She was born in Pittsfield, MA on June 16, 1960, the daughter of John T. Hughes and the late Rosemary B. Hughes, Lee, MA. She will be sadly missed.
Sheila loved The Boston Red Sox, politics, and animals, but above all she loved spending time with family and taking Zeva for daily walks. She enjoyed going on vacation and Saturday lunches with special people in her life (Nancy, Carol, Shaunie and Katie).
Sheila attended Lee Public Schools and Johnson and Wales University. She was a Bakery Manager at Big Y and Price Chopper making many lifelong friends along the way. Most recently she was a 911 dispatcher for the Berkshire County Sheriff Office, where her calming voice will be remembered.
She leaves behind a very loving and thoughtful husband Michael Tyler, who thought Sheila was his world, there wasn't anything he wouldn't do to keep her happy.
Sheila will join her mother Rosemary Hughes, her Aunt Nancy Ditello, Grandparents Nancy and James Bush; Angelina and Francis Hughes.
She is survived by her father, John T. Hughes and five brothers and family whom she adored; Christopher Hughes (Doreen), Francis Hughes, Patrick Hughes (Sofia), Andrew Hughes (Shannon), Matthew Hughes (Stephanie), Nieces and Nephews, Donna Hughes, Lynne Wells (Jeremy), Thomas Hughes, Lily Hughes, Charlotte Hughes, Drew Hughes, Jamie Hughes, Tristan Hager, Penelope Wells, Henry Wells. She leaves behind Tracy Keele (Ray), Melissa Tarjick (David), Shane Imler (Amy) she was fondly called Gramma Sheila by their children: Coda, Sharaya, Michael; Emily, Coby, Noah, Aleah, Damien, Ellie, Davon, Sayde, Leo, Jay, Nayla, Gianna. She also leaves behind many cousins.
Visiting Hours for Sheila M. Hughes will be Tuesday, February 23, 2021, 10:00AM - 12:00 Noon at the Kelly Funeral Home, 3 Main Street, Lee, MA. A graveside service will be held at 12:30PM at St. Mary's Cemetery, Spring Street, Lee, MA. Sheila liked her jeans and comfy t-shirts, please dress casual if attending service.

Face masks and social distancing will be required for the Visiting Hours. We ask that people enter through the Main Street entrance in the front of the building and exit through our parking lot door.
