Pawtucket – Shawn P. O’Melia, 56, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 23, 2022. He was the beloved son of Joanne M. (DeStefano) O’Melia of Pawtucket, and the late Patrick J. O’Melia.
Shawn graduated in 1983 from Tolman High School in Pawtucket where he grew up and resided most of his life. He worked as a security guard at Tel Aviv Waterfront, Providence, and previously worked in the medical field for many years. A true “Renaissance Man”, Shawn was skilled and gifted in many talents and interests. He was a second-degree black belt in Kenpo Karate and a skilled bow and arrow hunter. Shawn was an amazing artist, particularly with charcoal sketching and drawing design. He was a cigar aficionado, an amazing cook and enjoyed fishing, watching anime and playing video games alongside his sons. Shawn will be remembered as a wonderful father, son, brother and friend to many.
Besides his mother, he is survived by two sons, Brendan O’Melia of Medford, MA and Christian O’Melia of Pawtucket; a brother, Michael O’Melia of Attleboro, MA and several nieces, nephews and dear friends.
