Mrs. Sharron Pires, 73, of Pittsfield, passed away on May 5, 2022. Born in Pittsfield, MA, on December 7, 1948, the daughter of the late Harold and Madelaine Enright Yon, she graduated from Pittsfield High School, class of 1966.
Sharron was a hairdresser for 40 years, at one time co-owning Kim-Mar hair salon on Onota St. in Pittsfield where she had many regular clients.
Among many things, she enjoyed being creative and was an excellent quilter. She also knitted, crocheted, sewed, cross-stitched, and Spanish weaved many items such as baby blankets for the family and clothes. She loved to read, when she was actually sitting for once. Sharron was active in the church and spent hours praying for people on her prayer line. Anyone who knew Sharron will remember her and her husband, Doug, dancing. They would light up the room when they were on the dance floor. She was Doug's co-pilot and was also the driver who had no fear of towing the camper on their many trips. She will also be remembered for her cooking and mostly her big heart.
Sharron is survived by her beloved husband, Douglas Pires, whom she married on May 17, 1973, they are just days away from their 49th anniversary. She leaves behind her son Mitchell Pires (Amy) of Lenox, MA, her daughter Melissa DiMassimo (Tony) of Hancock, MA, her grandchildren Michael, Luke, Sadi, and Emma Pires, and Isla, and Kayleigh DiMassimo, her sister Sandy Kearns (Tim), her brother Terry Yon (Debby), sister-in-law Judy Yon, and many cousins, aunts, uncles, and a wonderful group of friends all over the world. Besides her parents, Sharron was predeceased by her brother Gerald (Jay) Yon.
Funeral Notice:
Funeral services for Mrs. Sharron Pires will be Thursday, May 12, 2022, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00am at Sacred Heart Church, celebrated by the Rev. A. Peter Gregory, Pastor Emeritus of St. Charles Church. Burial will be at a later date. Calling hours will be May 11, 2022 from 4pm to 6pm, at the Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North Street, Pittsfield MA 01201.
