Surrounded by loving family, Genevieve Sharon Fay Rammell peacefully passed away on December 5, 2024, in Rexburg, Idaho. She was born on March 15, 1939, to Leon Parley Rammell and Fay Genevieve Thompson in Idaho Falls. Her childhood was spent between the rugged Wyoming Hoback mountains and the pastoral Idaho countryside of Teton Valley. These landscapes shaped her into a graceful, resilient, and endlessly curious child of God.
As at teenager, her family moved to Rexburg, Idaho. At Madison High, she was a skier, cheerleader, musician and friend; her talents shining on every stage. Encouraged by a teacher, she began writing poetry, capturing the world's beauty with an elegance that would mark her life. Her words remain a treasure, a glimpse into her soul.
While raising her family in Orange County she graduated with a BA in English from the University of Southern California, where her love for literature deepened. Sharon filled her home with books, music, art, and purpose. Her library, marked with notes and underlined truths, remains a window into her brilliant, inquisitive mind. She taught her children the value of hard work, integrity, and compassion while inspiring them with her love for beauty and knowledge.
Sharon loved sports with a passion that matched her intellect. She cheered fiercely whether it was for the Lakers, the Jazz, team USA or her children, captivated by individual athletic finesse as well as the art of teamwork. The Olympics always held a special place in her heart with its grandeur and grace.
Her faith in Jesus Christ anchored her life. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served as a teacher and leader, embodying Paul's call to seek all that is "virtuous, lovely, or of good report." As the "Social Refinement" teacher, she shared her wisdom with elegance and generosity, leaving a legacy of grace.
But it was on the stage where Sharon's creativity soared. As producer, director, and writer, she crafted Roadshow performances that dazzled, always infused with humor and heart. Her productions won every time, filling audiences with joy and admiration.
Sharon had a profound love and reverence for all living creatures, treating her beloved cats and dogs as true members of the family?and they adored her just as much in return. Her affection for animals was contagious, inspiring a legacy of animal lovers among her posterity. In her home, every wagging tail and contented purr was a testament to her boundless benevolence.
Above all, Sharon created a life filled with love, beauty and compassion for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a source of light, warmth, and wonder. She made the ordinary extraordinary.
She is deeply loved and profoundly missed but her light endures. Sharon is survived by her four children: Corey Todd Oram-Hubbard Rammell (Ruth Louise Head), Keirsti Susan Hubbard, Sean Eric Hubbard (Michelle Robinson), and Heather Anne Hubbard; 15 grandchildren: Aubrey Ann Rammell Barker (Daniel Barker), Brittany Fay Rammell Crane (Everett Crane), Alexandra Ruth Rammell Crafton (Jordan Crafton), Cortland Leon Hubbard Rammell, Jake Edward Hubbard Rammell, Sofia Grace Rammell, Sonja Genevieve Rammell, Samuel Grey Hubbard, Genevieve Sharon Hubbard, Brady Leon Stewart-Chester (Katherine Westenskow), Tate Stewart-Chester Fairbanks (Benjamin Fairbanks), Fletcher Ty Hubbard, Theodore Dale James Chester (Autumn Ririe), Bo Jacqueline Chester, Flynn Eric Sydney Chester and 12 greatgrandchildren: Desmond, Charlotte, Leon, and Keira Crane; Ava, Sawyer, and Jack Barker; Miles and Nolan Crafton; Sundance and Pax Stewart-Chester, and Beckett Fairbanks; a brother Michael Leon Rammell, and sister Susan Derena Rammell.
