Sharon Ann Niedzinski, age 80, of Howell, MI passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Vista Springs Assisted Living Community in Howell. Her husband of 61 years, Ron, and her loving children were by her side.
Sharon Ann Stark was born on August 3, 1940 in Flint, Michigan to George Stark and Daisy (Gilbert) Stark. She grew up in Flint and made many wonderful memories there. Sharon graduated from St. John Vianney Catholic School and later earned an Associate's Degree from U of M Flint. Sharon met Ron Niedzinski, who was an Engineering student at Flint GMI, and they were married in August of 1959. Sharon was a founding member of Concern for Man in Saginaw and Newaygo County for Christ. She also had leadership roles in Aglow and Love INC.
Sharon blessed others by hosting gatherings for hundreds and leading farm tours and pony rides, handing out animal shaped sugar cookies to each child. She led prayer meetings and Bible studies, asking everyone: "Do you know Jesus?" She grew gardens of vegetables and flowers, marked with her signature "Praise Jesus" scarecrow. She shepherded sheep and authored Heaven Has Blue Carpet. A master in the kitchen and a gracious host, Sharon touched the hearts of all who met her. She doted on her family and was happiest when her large brood was around her.
Sharon is survived by her six children: Jerry (Ann) Niedzinski of Centennial, Colorado; Lynn (Bill) Young of Spring Lake, Michigan; Jill (Steve) Sklenar of Midland, Michigan; Jane (Dave) Marthaler of Gregory, Michigan; Anne (Sam) Ulstad of Spring Arbor, Michigan; and Jim (Shannon) Niedzinski of Beverly Hills, Michigan. Sharon also leaves behind a legacy of 21 grandchildren: Ryan Niedzinski, Lauren Niedzinski, Nicole (Young) Murphy, Michelle (Young) Ledebuhr, Andrew Young, Rebecca (Young) Lee, Nathan Sklenar, Brandon Sklenar, Jason Sklenar, Amy Sklenar, Adam Marthaler, Andrea Marthaler, Austin Marthaler, Abby Marthaler, Amanda (Ulstad) Wedgwood, Emily (Ulstad) Trudell, Allison (Ulstad) Stoetzel-Wilkinson, Samantha Ulstad, Ethan Ulstad, Grant Niedzinski, and Kate Niedzinski. Sharon's heritage continues to grow with 6 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are her sister Joan (Frank) Larkin of Petoskey, Michigan and brother Jim (Denise) Stark of Saginaw, Michigan. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Jerry Stark.
