Sharon J (Peerman) Keener, 93, formerly of Bloomington, IN, passed from this earthly life December 11, 2021 at Wellbrooke of Avon, IN, a senior living community.
She was born in Evansville, IN on April 12, 1928, to Millard L. and Goldie Mae Marie Campbell Peerman. Sharon was the fifth born of their nine children.
She is survived by her children Dr. Steven G. Keener and his wife Kathy, Penny K. Kubly and her husband Tim, and Vicki S. Lehr and her husband David; grandchildren Steven P. Kubly, McKenzie C. Falvo and her husband Craig, Andrew R. Lehr and his wife Maria, and Dr. Steven P.A. Keener; great grandchildren Ella S. and Miles A. Falvo and Nicholas R. and Kaladin T. Lehr; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, the love of her life, Adren G. Keener, brothers Millard Peerman, Delbert Peerman, Louis (Toby) Peerman, James Peerman, and Vaughn Peerman; and sisters Joy Paulson, Betty Parsons, and Jacqueline Stamps.
After retiring from Paul Harris where she worked as a clothing distributor, Sharon and Adren moved to a private lake near Bean Blossom, IN. When Adren passed she left their lake home to move into Bloomington, IN. Sharon became a member at St. Mark's United Methodist Church enjoying their weekly services and participating in their bible studies, she was also an excellent seamstress, a volunteer at IU Health Bloomington hospital for many years, and in her later years she was able to travel to many amazing locations near and far.
In light of the holiday season there will be a memorial gathering Friday, Jan. 7th, 2022 from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. for family and friends that would like to pay their respects at Simplicity Funeral and Cremation Care, 125 West Sycamore St. in Zionsville, IN.
