Sharon Worley Henson,77, of Sun City Hilton Head, wife of Kenneth Tyrone Henson, mother of Randy and Kenny Henson, daughter of E.J. and Ester Worley, and sister of Larry and Vera Worley passed away at home in Sun City, Hilton Head on Dec., 19, 2020. Sharon attended Farley Elem. School and Butler High (class of '62); was a nurse in Huntsville Hospital, Boaz-Albertville Hospital, and the University of Alabama Student Infirmary. She attended Snead College and UA, earning a B.S. in math, later earning an MBA at Indiana State University, and a Certificate in Accounting (U of Miami.) returning to UA to teach and earn an ABD. She served as Administrative Assistant to the Dean of Nursing at Delta State University. At Texas A&M, Sharon wrote remote sensing computer programs that used satellites to manage TAMU's produce farm. She later joined A&M's accounting division. Her last job for over a decade was budget analyst for Kentucky's Lexington/Fayette Urban County Government.
Always a serious scholar, she belonged to the Art Club, National Honor Society, Science Club, and Latin Club. Butler classmates wrote in her yearbook: Sharon giggled her way through school. Precious things come in small packages. If you are loved elsewhere as you are here, you will never have to worry. Stay as sweet and wonderful as you are and everyone will love you. She did, and they did. Never speaking an ill word to or about anyone, Sharon lived a life of service to her family and others, always putting the needs of others ahead of her own. After the pandemic, her cremains will be buried near her parents and grandpa in Maple Hill Cemetery in Huntsville, Alabama. See Saul's Funeral Home website for complete obituary.
