Sharon Eck, 82, Fishers, and longtime resident of Washington, Indiana, passed peacefully Friday March 18th after an extended illness.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents John and Eula Truelove; her sister Diana Conrad and her husband Orlan Eck.
She is survived by her children Bill Eck, Kathy Redifer and her husband Eric, of Indianapolis, grandchildren Drew and Cassandra Redifer, Lindsey Redifer and Audrey Redifer, and great granddaughter Elena Redifer.
Sharon was beloved by all who met her. She started her family on the farm and finished her education and lived a very happy life as a High School art teacher and artist. She and Orlan traveled extensively, spending several years in Germany teaching in the Defense Department education system. When they returned to Washington they built a home at a spot on the farm she had picked as a young girl. Sharon continued her travels, art and sewing, until her Parkinson's made it difficult. Although her body weakened, her mind remained sharp until her final few days. Many thanks to her caregivers who helped her through these last couple years. She will be truly missed.
A Memorial Gathering will be Saturday, April 9 at Flanner Buchannan - Geist, 7855 Cork Rd., Indianapolis, IN from 1-3 PM with a Memorial Service beginning at 3 PM.
Memorial contributions in Sharon's name are appreciated for the Michael J. Fox Foundation or the Myotonic Dystrophy Foundation.
