Sharon Kay Weber Lowther Ashcraft, 76 passed away peacefully at St. Barbara's Nursing Home in Monongah, West Virginia on Sunday, May 22, 2022. She was born February 20, 1946 in Clarksburg, West Virginia. The oldest of four children to the late Harold and Gwendolyn Weber.
Everyone that knew Sharon knew she had a zest for life and enjoyed meeting people. In her earlier years, she owned a bar with her late husband Maurice Ashcraft and enjoyed cooking for her patrons. Sharon had and ornery streak and made everyone laugh. She loved her family, dancing, going out to eat and several canine companions over the years. The beach was her favorite place to visit and she loved collecting turtles. Her greatest joy was living to see her nine grandchildren.
Sharon is survived by her two sons, Andrew Sean Lowther and Theresa Chism of Worthington, WVand Jerry Lynn and Janice Lowther of Inwood, WV. Nine grandchildren; Brandon and Luke Chism of Worthington, WV, Hannah and James Bradley of Ossian, IN, Autumn, Levi, Rachel, Miriam, Melody and Angelique Lowther of Inwood, WV. Two sisters Judith Sturm of Shinnston, WV and Nancy Ellis of Hepzibah, WV, along with several beloved nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Robert "Bobby" Weber.
The family would like to thank the current and past staff at St. Barbara's Nursing Home for their years of excellent care. Your hard work and dedication are greatly appreciated. You were not just caregivers you were family.
