Sharon R. Abbott of Birdsview, WA, was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and a caring friend. She departed this world on October 22, 2021, surrounded by her loved ones, who continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest. Sharon was sustained, throughout her life, by a deep abiding faith, in her God. The simplest pleasure of life brought her happiness, a quick trip to town for a mocha, or dinner at a favorite restaurant, a family get together, or a quiet evening at home, enjoying a glass of wine. She had the greatest smile, it was sincere and she was a joy to those around her. She found comfort in her daily activities, delight in blue skies and summer flowers; dahlias were a favorite, as well as the pristine white of winter snows.
Sharon was born February 29, 1944, in Ketchikan, AK. The daughter of Calvin and Mary Demmert Roberts. She attended school in Ketchikan, graduating from Ketchikan HS in 1963. She attended U of A (SE) and Skagit Valley College. She was a member of and was married in the Ketchikan Presbyterian Church. A member of Tlingit Nation of Southeast Alaska, she was proud of her Native American heritage.
After her children were grown and on their own, she was employed as a Childhood Education Specialist. Retiring in 2009, she enjoyed spending time with family, friends and traveling coast to coast, especially our national parks.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Carmel Roberts and Elain Foley, her brother Calvin Roberts Jr. and her grandson Zane Samuel Fecht Abbott.
She leaves behind her husband of 59 years, Michael, her children, Tina M. Abbott (Debra), R. Scott Abbott (Terri), Laurie D. Larson (Jay), brothers in law Richard Foley (Linda), Fred Abbott, and sister in law Pat Zayas. Grandchildren Steven M. (Vanessa), Marcus K., Tyler J., Michael S., Kyler P. (Sabrina), and Kristen K. (Mike). Great-grandchildren Maya, Maisy Mae, Elianna, Declan, Dedrick, Skyler, Prestin, Ryker, Rhys, and Cody, many nephews, nieces, and family.
A celebration of her life will be held when blue skies, warm breezes, and the flowers of summer return.
