Jonathan Seth Mitchell passed away on Nov 13, 2021 in Dallas TX after a courageous yet challenging 6-year battle with cancer. He was the bravest, most thoughtful and passionate person we've ever known.
Seth is survived by the love of his life, his wife Nicole Mitchell and their 3 amazing children, Maggie, Ella and Harlan; his mother Cathy Mitchell of Richardson; his father and stepmother John and Laura Mitchell of Carrollton; his 3 loving sisters and their husbands, Kelli and Bobby Higginbotham of Tacoma WA, Sarah and Saul Beltran of Barcelona Spain, and Sara and Ryan Lumbley of Dallas; as well as 6 nieces and nephews.
Born in Waco TX in 1979 then moving with his family to Carrollton TX in 1990, Seth was a graduate of Newman-Smith HS in 1997 and UNT in 2002, earning a BA in Communications. Seth was an exceptional debater in high school as well as a sports-enthusiast; having invested time with WFAA Sports and The Ticket before moving to a successful career in marketing.
Seth worked for Grey Advertising Group after college before joining with a colleague and good friend to create Reed-Mitchell Strategic Design which eventually merged with 9th Wonder, an exceptional marketing company with offices in 3 countries. Ever the optimist, his creativity and innovation were a driving force behind its success. Seth made everything he touched better and smarter and considered his partners and team to be family.
Seth had an insatiable curiosity and desire to understand new concepts. He was a great listener, the best gift-giver ever, loved Broadway shows, countless well-written books and creative podcasts. His love of culinary exploration paired with excellent wines and a signature shoe and sneaker collection were legendary. However, Seth's legacy, the endearing characteristic that truly defined him is an unconditional love for family and friends. We will forever and always love, respect and miss you, Seth.
