Funeral services for Mrs. Sentis Griffith, 98, of Long Branch, Texas will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 14, 2022 at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Mark Williamson officiating. Burial will follow in the Boynton Cemetery under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Visitation will be 9-10:00 a.m. prior to the service Saturday.
Mrs. Sentis Marie Truelock Griffith was born January 29, 1924 in Henderson, Texas. She passed this life May 7, 2022 peacefully at her Long Branch home. Sentis was one of five children born to the marriage of Willie Emanuel and Opal Marie Welch Truelock. Her parents were cotton farmers growing up in the Chapman Community where she completed schools. Sentis married Jimmie Cariker Griffith at the age of 15. Together they celebrated three children and 74 years of marriage before he preceded her in death in 2013. Sentis led a simple life loving her Lord and family, as a homemaker, gardening, raising cattle and farming on their homeplace. She is also preceded in death by her parents, siblings, sister, Margie Bryan, brothers, W.C., Cecil, and Ralph Truelock; son, Jimmie Lynn Griffith; grandson, Matt McClure; grandson-in-law, Mark Pass; and her fur baby, Angel.
Mrs. Griffith is survived by her daughters, Marie Gail Griffith McClure and husband Jerry of Carthage, Connie Jo Griffith Denton and husband Dalton of Carthage; grandchildren, Neashia Gail Griffith Simpson and husband Kelly of Tyler, Madonna Jo McClure Ashmore and husband Bob of Longbranch, Amanda Jo Denton Beatty and husband Mike of Hutto, Brandon Ross Denton and wife Shawna of Kilgore; great grandchildren, Christian Simpson, Holden James Saxton and fianc? A'Toya Villarreal, Abigail McKenna Simpson Sage and husband Joel Nathanael, Triston Ross Denton, Hailey Brynne Beatty, Hayden Faith Beatty, Blake Colton Beatty, Conor Griffith Denton and Branna Rose Denton; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends and her beloved fur baby Mr. Pickles.Pickles.
