Mary Urrey Shook, 92, of Wimberley, Texas, died on Saturday, July 30, 2022. Burial services will take place in Friday, August 5, at Memory Gardens in Hope, Ark. at noon. Ronald F. Bertagna, a 73 yr. old resident of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away Friday, July 29, 2022. His wife, son, and grandson were by his side when he passed. Ronald "Ronnie" Bertagna was born in 1948 to Frank Joe Bertagna and Bobbie Jane Gueder in Alice, Texas, where he grew up. In 1965, he married Dorothy Kalinec and started his family. Throughout his life, he was a championship cowboy, rancher, golfer, chef, avid hunter, fisherman, and quite the dead eye with a rifle. His favorite fishing spots were in Baffin Bay, and he loved hunting all over South Texas. Drop him in the bay or in the brush, and he would come home with dinner or a tall tale. Les Nienow Sr., at 89, passed into glory on Friday morning, July 22, 2022. His transition was peaceful as he held the hands of his daughter Linda, and son-in-law, Rusty Hammel, who had lovingly cared for him for two and a half years in their home in Port Lavaca, Texas. Near the end, Linda whispered in his ear, "Remember Dad, you're my Hero!" He responded softly, "No Linda, you're my Hero." Shortly after, he drew his last breath. Michael was the oldest of their six children followed by Patrick, Shaun, Timothy, Kelly and Kerry Maureen. According to a report he did when he was young, he wouldn't trade his siblings for all the money in the world. Fitz was an adventurous boy who often said he weighed if the fun from his latest exploit would be worth the trouble he would get in. Evelyn Neve, widow of Grammy winner Rupert Neve, died on Saturday, May 14, 2022. Born Oct. 5,1929, in Murree, India, she is survived by her 5 children, Mary, David (Liz), John (Petra), Stephen (Sue), and Ann (Dave). She had 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband Arthur Rupert Neve. A British citizen, born and raised in what is now Pakistan, Evelyn came to the UK around the time of WWII and trained as a primary school teacher. She met and married Rupert in 1951. Charles Edgar McKinney age 72 passed gracefully on May 6th near his home in Wimberley Texas after a long fight against old age. Charles was born in Weatherford Texas on November 21, 1949. The youngest of 4 children born to Gertrude & Hugh McKinney. His family then moved to Buffalo Texas where he spent the majority of his adolescent life learning how to be handy and applying his natural mechanical aptitude toward building and repairing whatever he put his mind too. The lights went out on Deer Lake Road when, at 3 p.m., Monday, June 27, Gerald "Jerry" Mackin passed away. He loved God, his wife Gene of 50 years, and his immediate family including older brother Ron, nephews David Mackin of Los Gatos, California, Bill Kolesnik of Sebastian, Florida, and David Kolesnik of Vero Beach, Florida along with their families, and countless dear friends.
