Catherine "Katie" Mary Reese was born November 7, 1927, to Evan J. and Hubertine Reese in Kemmerer, WY. At a young age, she moved to Reliance, WY, a coal camp north of Rock Springs, WY, with her parents and her older brother, Evan, and her younger sister, Jo Ann. Her family eventually moved to the nearby coal town of Rock Springs, WY. Rock Springs would be Katie's home for many years to come. In high school, Katie met the love of her life, Vic Cundy. During their courtship, Vic joined the military during World War II. Throughout his service, Katie and Vic were able to keep in touch by exchanging letters. John Hayden Greer, 89, of Honeyville, Utah, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2021 at his home due to natural causes. He was surrounded by his loving family. John was born November 30, 1931 in Campus, Kansas to Oscar Warren and Ethel Pearl (Stults) Greer. He was the 11th of 13 children, two of which passed away in infancy. After completing the eighth grade, he left home to work out West on farms and to be closer to his brothers. John served in the Army for three years between 1949 and 1953. William Marvin Sines passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of June 24, 2022. He was almost 90 years young and lived a life of purpose that was filled with hard work and determination. Even during the last years of his life he enjoyed working on his property, fishing off of his dock and tinkering with his cars and boats. Marvin was born in Williamson, Iowa on February 6, 1933 and moved to Wyoming as a young boy. As a young man he graduated from Superior High School where he participated in four sports. July 30th, 2022 - Heaven took back an angel. Michelle Ruth Slebiska (Markel) born June 17th, 1958 in Bay City, Michigan passed on to be with our Lord. Michelle was truly beautiful both inside and out. She was a talented hair stylist for many years and then retired to devote her time and love to her daughter Caitie and two grandchildren. Samuel M. Dorrence, 83, passed away on July 28 at Hospice of Laramie after a lengthy battle with lung disease. He was married for over 57 years to Marilyn A. Toth, who preceded him in death in 2018. Sam was born to the late William and Ozella Dorrence in Rock Springs in 1939 and earned a PhD in Organic Chemistry at the University of Utah in 1963. He worked at the Bureau of Mines which later became Western Research Institute for 38 years, becoming the Director of Physical Sciences, where he retired in 2005. John R. Ratcliff, 68, passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at his home in Rock Springs, Wyoming surrounded by family. He was born on September 22, 1953 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the son of John and Betty Ratcliff. John married Phyllis Walker in Green River, WY on April 2, 1977. He loved playing baseball in his early years, the Tigers and White Socks tried to recruit him to play as an outfielder at the age of 17, but his parents would not let him because they were worried that he was too young.
