Mr. Ryle William Tatum passed away on July 16, 2022. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:30pm-7:00pm at Joiner Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro. Graveside service will be Thursday at 10:30am in Memorial Gardens at Jones Creek Baptist Church.

Statesboro, GA Mr. Ryle William Tatum, age 94, passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at his residence. He was thankful for the longevity of life and for the great journey on the long way home. James Burke ("Jimmy") Franklin, age 84, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at the Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Facility in Statesboro. A native and lifelong resident of Bulloch County, Jimmy was the younger son of Claire Burke and Samuel Jasper Franklin. After graduating from Statesboro High School in 1956, Jimmy attended Georgia Institute of Technology, where he earned a degree in Industrial Engineering and was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. Immediately upon graduating from Georgia Tech, Jimmy enrolled at the University of Georgia School of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctor degree in 1962, during which time he was inducted into the Gridiron society....

Rosalyn Jeynelle Strickland passed away at the age of 80 on July 5, 2022. Jeynelle was a devoted mother, grandmother and lifelong educator. Jeynelle's faith was central to her life and values. She was born in Telfair County, Georgia to Enmon and Thelma Mathew. She married Wilburn Strickland in 1959 and lovingly raised two children, Thomas Strickland and Belinda Jorgenson. Jeynelle earned a master's degree in business education in 1972 and taught high school and vocational school students for over 40 years. Larry Gene Layne, age 73 passed away peacefully Tuesday morning July 5, 2022 at his residence in Aiken, SC after a long illness where he had the loving care of his wife of 22 years Debbie Maddox Layne. She graduated from Avondale High School in Avondale Estates, Georgia in 1954. She married her high school sweetheart, and love of her life Coy Short in August 1956. Gale McAllister Tidwell passed on June 27, 2022, after a long illness. She was born on December 8, 1943, in Uvalda, GA to the late Emma Lucile Adams McAllister and Robert Lee McAllister. Loretta Edge Wells, born January 24, 1939, widow of Maynard C. Wells was born and raised in Soperton, Georgia and passed away at her home in Bluffton on June 5, 2022. She completed her undergraduate education at the University of Georgia and attained her masters in English at the University of North Carolina.
