Mrs. Mary Louise Hubbard was born October 1, 1948. in Oglethorpe County, Ga to the late Mr. Arthur Gresham, Sr. and the late Mrs. Mary Helen Gresham. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Johnny Hubbard. She is survived by two daughters Mrs. Debbie (Darin) Mcmurray, Statham, Ga and Mrs. Jackie (Garrick)Smith Albany, Ga and one son Mr. Paul David Hull, Jr., Virginia. She also leaves eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren and two God-children Adrian Hubbard and Norman Thurmond of Athens, Ga. and a host of other relatives and friends. Gerald Jan Thompson, Jr., known to many as Jan, passed away on October 19, 2021, in Myrtle Beach, SC. He was born on August 1, 1965, to Mary Jean Craft and Gerald Jan Thompson, Sr. in Atlanta, GA. After just a short while there, they moved to what would become his home for life, Vesta, Georgia where Mary Jean was born and raised. Mr. Tommy Lee Smith was born September, 1948 in Greensboro, Ga., to the late Lula B. and Kenneth (K. C.) Clyde Smith. He enjoyed giving help to others, telling jokes daily, going to family gatherings and working. A portion of his working years he spent working for the University of Georgia, while the other 20 years he retired from the Clarke County Courthouse where he was a janitor. Mark Edward Pintar, 59, passed away Saturday, October 16, 2021. He was born in Sharon, Pa., and graduated from Cedar Shoals High School in Athens, Ga. and attended Georgia Southern University. He is survived by his father, Robert Pintar Sr.; three brothers, Bob Jr., Jack and Tom; and other family members. Mr. Lynn Gene Bumgarner, 67, of Watkinsville, husband of 25 years to Denise Booth Bumgarner, passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2021. Lynn was born in Caldwell County, NC on September 28, 1954, son of the late Horace Gene Bumgarner and Nan Bolick Bumgarner. He obtained an associates degree from Haywood Community College in wildlife management and worked as a carpenter for over 40 years. Lynn was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. Mary E. Case passed away on October 13, 2021, at the age of 95, due to a motor vehicle accident. She was a Professor Emerita, Ph.D. at the Department of Genetics at the University of Georgia and was a longtime member of St. James United Methodist Church. She was a world traveler having traveled to all 50 states and all the continents. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Ralph T. and Leila Case as well as her sister, Ruth, and Ruth's husband, William Kelley. She is survived by one niece; two nephews; as well as great-nieces and nephews; and great-great nieces and nephews. Per Mary's request, services will be private.
