Birdie Nell Cowston Easley, 85, of Kilgore, completed her earthly journey on Sunday, January 22, 2023, in her home surrounded by her family following a courageous battle with kidney disease. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at 1 p.m., in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore, with Rev. Joshua Howington officiating. Interment will follow in Hagansport Cemetery in Hagansport, Tx. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5 until 7. She was graduated Winnsboro High School where she was Homecoming Queen, worked as a teacher's aide and secretary in public schools, attended Calvary Baptist Church in Sulphur Springs, and enjoyed cooking and made sure that everyone that came to her house didn't leave hungry. Emogene Cox Wilson, a kind and gentle woman who always looked for the good in people, died Sept. 21, 2022, from congestive heart failure. She was 92. Gene was the heart and soul of her family, a deeply loved matriarch of five generations, including four children, six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
