Chris was born April 29, 1952, the second of four children to Robert and Virginia Scott Ross in Bethany, MO. He met his first wife, Rita Fichter Ross, at Hickman High School in Columbia, MO; they were married from 1974 to 2002, and they had two children, Emily and Thomas.
