Fern Frances Hooley, 97, passed away Friday, January 12, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 24, 1926 at home near Bancroft, Cuming County, Nebraska, to Daniel and Emma (Birky) Nitzsche. Fern accepted Jesus as her savior and was baptized at age 11 at the Plum Creek Mennonite Church, Beemer, Nebraska. On May 21, 1950, she married Mylin D. Hooley in the same church. He died March 10, 2003. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 22 at Mount Zion United Methodist Church in Marietta, GA with Pastor Harden Hopper officiating. Family visitation will be at 2:00 p.m. followed by the service at 3:00 p.m. Interment will be at Mount Zion Cemetery, Marietta. Zobel was born on January 12, 1938 to Ella Zobel (Feyerherm) and Martin Zobel in West Point, NE and grew up on his parents' farm in Bancroft, NE. He received his BA in Education from Concordia College, Seward, NE and his MA in Education from Hofstra University in Hempstead, NY.
