Lorna Duane Virts Smith, 92, died on October 16, 2021, in Taneytown, Maryland. Born on August 25, 1929, in Brunswick, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Orion J. and Madeline Moler Virts. She attended Brunswick High School (Class of 1946) where she met and married Lee L. Smith, who died October 14, 2011. Further piano studies and a B.S. Degree from Towson State Teachers College (1952) prepared her for a career as a music teacher in the public schools in Brunswick, Burkittsville and Point of Rocks, all in Frederick County. Dale was born August 14, 1947 and raised in Beaver Falls, PA. He graduated from Northwestern High School in 1965. He attended Indiana University of PA graduating with a BS in Education.
