Bernice Haner, age 93, passed away peacefully February 13, 2022 in Anacortes, Washington. She was born on October 3, 1928 in Hoquiam, Washington to William and Anna Brooks. Bernice graduated from Hoquiam High School. After marrying W.I. Haner Jr. in 1947 and raising 6 children she later attended Central Washington University receiving her degree in Education where she would then work for the Aberdeen School District for a number of years. She moved to Anacortes in 1980 where she worked for many years at The Store Grocery. Dorothy Mae Ashlock, 90, of North Charleston, SC, widow of Dave Ashlock entered into eternal rest Friday, January 14, 2022. Her graveside funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm at Fern Hill Cemetery, in Menlo, WA on Saturday, January 22, 2022. The family will receive friends that morning at Stoller's Mortuary in Raymond, WA from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. Paulette Fleenor, 72 of Seymour passed away at her home on June 27, 2021. She was born August 17, 1948 in Ottawa, Illinois to Orville Edward and Florence Jackson Fleenor. She came to Indiana at the age of 17 and then moved to McCleary, Washington where she spent the next 19 years before returning to Indiana. She worked as a bartender for the VFW and the Knights of Columbus and worked in the cafeteria at Schneck Medical Center for five years before retiring. Paulette loved life. Mrs. Maxine Slimp-Thompson, 81, passed away on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at her home. A memorial service will be held at 10am on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at Sun City Center UMC, 1210 Del Webb Blvd W, Sun City, FL 33573. Born in Aberdeen, WA, Mrs. Slimp-Thompson was the daughter of the late Albert Dudley Slimp and the late Mildred Brownrigg Cannon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Thompson and her brother, Robert Slimp of Brinnon. Maxine spent her early childhood on a farm in North River, WA, and graduated from Lake Quinault.
