Glenda loved music and participated in choir and orchestra were she was first chair violin through-out high school and traveled with the orchestra to Switzerland. Harlan Lee Petersen was born on the home farm in Frederic, Wisconsin on January 2, 1936, the son of Henry and Cecelia Petersen. Where growing up he learned to value and love the skills and work ethic to run a farm which he carried through life. His elementary years were spent in a one room schoolhouse in rural Frederic, graduating from Frederic High School in 1955. He graduated from Dana College in Blair, Nebraska in 1959 and started his elementary teaching career teaching 2 years in Norfolk, Nebraska, then 23 years in Blue Earth, Minnesota. Kathyrn (Katy) Enger Sjostrom, age 91, died Saturday May 25, 2024 at Blount Memorial Hospital. Katy was born April 20, 1933 in Blue Earth, Minnesota. She earned a teaching degree from Mankato State University and taught 5th grade in Richfield, MN and Ramey Air Force Base, Puerto Rico before marrying Fred Sjostrom, her beloved husband for 63 years. Katy was preceded in death by her husband Fred Sjostrom and her cherished daughter Inger Sjostrom; her parents Julius and Harriet Enger; sister Mary Pirsig and brother John Enger.
