David H. Aasum, 78, of Rochester and formerly of Mabel died Friday, July 22, 2022, in Mabel. David was born August 7, 1943 in Spring Grove, Minnesota to Judene and Mildred (Anderson) Aasum. He attended and graduated from the Mabel High School in 1961. In 1964 he graduated from Winona State with a degree in elementary education. He taught at Jefferson Elementary School in Rochester until 1980. He then worked with real estate and rental properties. He was a member of the Scheie Lutheran Church in rural Mabel and enjoyed antiques and collectables, and travelling. Roger was born in Spring Grove, Minnesota on April 2, 1927. He attended country schools. He took off on his final flight July 5, 2022, at the age of 95. He entered the U.S. Air Force as a Medic in 1945, spending his time in Japan, and discharged in 1947. He took flying lessons under the G.I. Bill, getting his pilot's license in December 1947. He had his own personal planes until the age of 91. Roger met and married Gladine Braaten of Hesper, Iowa in 1948. Elmer Dean Erickson, age 94, of Pine City died peacefully on Sunday, July 3, 2022 at home with his children Dennis and Sandra by his side. The youngest of 8 children, Elmer was born in Ashland Township, Dodge County, on February 3, 1928 to Carl and Martha (Peterson) Erickson. He married Helen Hoppe on April 28, 1948 and moved to his family farm in rural Dodge Center where they resided for 70 years. He started his own business, Erickson Masonry, retiring after 40 years. LaVonne R. Bianchi, 88 of Wabasha, passed away on Sunday June 26th, 2022, at her home in Wabasha, MN surrounded by her family. LaVonne Rose was born March 1, 1934, in Austin, MN to Miles and Julietta (Hanson) Otto. She graduated from Elkton High. She was a cheerleader and dated the star running back of the Elkton football team. She enjoyed her career as a legal secretary for over 30 years. Shirley Ann Pierson, 86, passed away in Lake City on May 22, 2022. Shirley was born to Peter and Ferne VanderGoore on December 2, 1935, in Madison, South Dakota. She was married to Dwight Pierson on May 27, 1956. The marriage was blessed with three daughters. They lived in Rochester for 28 years before retiring to Lake City. Timothy DeMuth Schmuck, 72, of Sun Prairie, WI, lived a full life, filled with family, friends, and love. Tim graduated from Mayo HS in 1968. After returning from the Air Force, he completed college at the University of Minnesota. Tim spent his career in the grain industry. He was devoted to his family and was a loving father and grandfather. With an easy-going personality, Tim was always willing to help others however he could.
