Our precious Mother passed onto to be at home with our Lord June 29, 2022. All five of her children were around her bed along with Becky and Cindy at the moment. Sarah is survived, by her children: Mike Rice (Marietta), Ken Rice (Kennesaw), Nancy Donehoo Hunter (Maysville KY), Jody Donehoo (Leesburg VA), Rodney Donehoo (Powder Springs). Kevin Lee Rice, age 65, of Mableton, GA passed away November 20th, 2021. Kevin was born to Benjamin and Lorene Rice in Tollesboro, KY, and spent a majority of his youth there. He graduated from Tollesboro High School in 1974. He eventually moved to Georgia in 1992, and was working at Home Depot when he met his beloved wife, Carol, in 1998. They married in 1999 and have been residents of Cobb County since. Once Kevin left Home Depot, he went into business for himself in handy man and landscaping work. He officially retired in 2013. Gerry L. Calvert, Sr., 85, of Lexington, passed from this world peacefully at his home in Lexington on July 12, 2021, surrounded by family. A native of Maysville, Kentucky, and a graduate of Maysville High School, Gerry played basketball for the University of Kentucky under Coach Adolph Rupp from 1954 - 1957. Drafted to play professionally by the Philadelphia Warriors, Gerry instead chose a career in law, graduating from the University of Louisville Louis C. Gary Alan Koch, 79, husband of Julie Dee Halcomb Koch, passed away unexpectedly on May 19, 2021 in Lexington, KY. He was born on August 3, 1941 in Rogersville, TN and grew up with his younger brother Tim in Russellville, KY. Gary attended the University of Kentucky, where he met his future wife Julie. Mike (H. W.) Kooyman, a past business CEO and community leader passed away peacefully on November 25, 2019 after a short illness. He was 91 years old. The youngest and one of seven kids, Mike Kooyman was the only member of the family born in the U.S. in 1928. His parents immigrated to the U.S. from Alkmaar Holland. Mike grew up in farm communities east of Cleveland Ohio and as a teen, worked with his father and older brothers in landscaping. Mary Elizabeth Scripps nee Pfister passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 2, 2019. She was born Nov. 9, 1924 in Terre Haute, IN. She attended St. Mary of the Woods College. Libby started her career in insurance where she met and married James Patrick Breslin whom she survived after 31 years of marriage. She later married Charles E. Scripps whom she survived after 15 years of marriage. She enjoyed interior design, puzzles, and was an avid reader. Thomas Patrick "Tom" Lundergan died surrounded by his family on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at his home in Versailles, Kentucky at the age of 65. Tom was born June 21, 1953, in Maysville, Kentucky, to his loving parents, Eugene and Thelma Lundergan (McHugh).
