Mary Ann (Heitmeyer) Charnes, 79, of the Savannah Lakes Village, wife of A.R. Charnes, passed away suddenly on Monday, March 21, 2022 while completing their "bucket list" trip in South America. She was born in Ottawa, Ohio to Joseph and Lucille Heitmeyer. Mary Ann was a graduate of St. Peter and Paul High School in Ottawa and attended the University of Findlay in Findlay, Ohio. While working for Marathon Oil Company, Mary Ann met A.R. Charnes, a Findlay College basketball player, and they began the journey of a lifetime that lasted almost 60 years. Dale Richard Schubert, age 73 of Defiance, went to Heaven on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at Mercy Hospital of Defiance. He was born on July 8, 1948 in McComb, Ohio to Wilbur and Ruth Anna (Beemer) Schubert, who both preceded him in death. Dale proudly served our country in the 555th U. S. Air Force Band. Esma "Alice" Penwell, 83, of Seymour, TN and formerly of Findlay, OH, went to be with our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, September 14, 2021. She was born on July 22, 1938, in Cleves, OH to her parents, William Chester Retherford and Olive May West Retherford. Alice was an accomplished seamstress and sewed intricate designs for the community for all occasions, most notably weddings. Clara Louise Schoenberger, age 93, died at the home of her daughter in Tupelo, MS on November 13, 2020 at 6:30 PM. She was born in Wharton, Ohio on September 1, 1927 to the late Raymond and Gladys Mae Shaffer. On August 4, 1945, Clara married Luther Schoenberger. Together they had two children, Carol and Ron.
