Carol A. Thorn, 85, beloved Mother, was called to her eternal resting place on April 10, 2020. She entered this world on August 31, 1934, in Dayton, OH, born to Harold and Edna Panter. She is preceded in death by her Husband Cecil W. Thorn, Daughter Tammy Thorn Ledford, Son Cecil W. Thorn, Jr. (Billy), her Parents Harold and Edna Panter, and Brothers Kenny Panter and Bobby Panter. She is survived by her son Donald Thorn, (Molly), and grandchildren Melissa Thorn, Michelle Thorn Dean, Victoria Rivas, Donald/Alex Thorn, and Cully Reid. M. Loretta Thieme passed away on December 18, 2019. Her life began in a small farming town in Indiana. She went to elementary school in a one room school house built in 1888 in Farmer's Retreat, now listed in the National Register of Historical Places. After completing high school, Loretta obtained a nursing diploma at The Christ Hospital in Cincinnati. During her nursing career, she had the opportunity to care for polio patients in Iron Lungs. Loretta married Melvin Thieme on April 9, 1949. They were married 60 years when he passed away. Loretta put Mel through school at Purdue where he obtained his PhD in Nuclear Physics. Michael Henry Thomas, 77, of Espanola, NM, passed away on October 6, 2019, surrounded by family. Michael was born in Silver City, New Mexico, and moved to Los Alamos in 1962. He worked for Los Alamos National Laboratory for 26 years and was active in the Los Alamos Auxiliary Fire Brigade for 18 years. Michael was preceded in death by his wife, Barbra Thomas, his parents, Anna Lou and Maurice L. "Hank" Thomas, and his two older brothers, Jerry L. Thomas and Kenneth E. Thomas. Father Robert Anthony Busch, Ph.D., who served as Pastor of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Canyon and Superintendent of Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Amarillo, passed away Aug. 28. He was 57 years old. The Vigil for the Deceased will be celebrated Friday, August 30, 2019, at 6:30 p.m., at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Canyon. Jim Owens, 84, of Three Forks, MT, a retired senior scientist from the Idaho National Laboratory (Idaho Falls, ID), passed away from cancer Thursday, July 25, 2019. Jim was born June 16, 1935 in Hotchkiss, CO. He excelled at golf, hunting, fishing and was a single engine aircraft Flight Instructor with many "cub" pilots under his wings.
