Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Mary Lea Brown Moore, age 78 of Jefferson, Georgia, formerly of Wytheville, Virginia who entered into rest Tuesday, November 24, 2020. Mrs. Moore was born in Fairlawn, Virginia, a daughter of the late Ernest Ross Brown and the late Edna Yeatts Brown. Mrs. Moore was a graduate of Radford College where she received her Bachelors Degree and was a retired educator, having taught school for forty-two years. Doris Grubb Crittenden, 89, passed away Saturday, November 7, 2020, at Aldersgate CCRC in Charlotte. She was born in Wytheville, Virginia, on September 6, 1931, to Charlie Frank and Hallie Sharpe Grubb. After graduating from Wytheville High School, Doris took the train to Richmond to pursue her dream of becoming a registered nurse. She began her nurse's training at the age of 16 at Grace Hospital School of Nursing. While there, Doris met her future husband, Thomas E. (Ed) Crittenden. James "Jim" was the only child of the late Mary E (Yanosko) Hanson and James D. Hanson, both of Greensburg PA. Jim graduated from Greensburg High School, Class of 1951. He proudly served in the US Navy for four years on the USS Valley Forge where he began his career in electrical engineering and drafting.
