Pat was a member of the Southwind Wesleyan Church, Psi Iota Xi, and the Monday Afternoon Club. Byron McCarter, born in 1937 in Vincennes, Indiana, passed away recently. A 1955 graduate of Lincoln High School, Byron was a two-sport letterman. In 1956, he joined the Marine Corps where he was a member of the 2nd Recon. While serving he also graduated from Marine guard school at Quantico, Virginia. He met his wife Louisa P. Silver in the Netherlands and they were married in 1960. In the fall of 1962, Byron left the Marine Corps and began working at General Motors in Indianapolis.
