Sarah Josephine (Hatten) Schlotterback (Dec. 17, 1935-Nov. 24, 2024) was known for her compassionate nature. She was born to Charles and Hazel Hatten of Nevada MO. Her mother was a teacher and father a dentist which helped guide her to a profession in helping others. She attended Cottey College in Nevada, MO, later attending the School of Nursing at Kansas University where she met and married William Schlotterback, also attending KU medical school. They moved to Lakin Ks. where they bought a fold out table and worked out of a small rented room. This was their first medical office. Jack was born June 24, 1927, in Beloit, to Clarence and Iona (Shearer) Sampson. He graduated from Abilene High School in 1945. Kathryn (Barrows) Casady Smith passed away peacefully on May 4, 2023, in Jupiter, Florida. She was born in Trenton, Missouri on December 21, 1925, the daughter of George and Martha Barrows. She spent her early years in northern Missouri where her family owned pharmacies. Kathryn happily tended the soda bar as a young girl and, as a result, had a fondness for ice cream that remained all of her life. Kathryn was part of the 'Greatest Generation.' Grace Marie Dahlke (Frankenstein), 94, passed away peacefully at her daughter's home on Friday, October 29, 2021 in Bixby, Oklahoma, in the presence of several family members.
