Margie Marie Mersmann, 87, passed away peacefully, Sunday, June 25, 2023 at Baldwin Healthcare and Rehab in Baldwin City. Margie Marie Nichols was born April 13, 1936 near Kincaid, Kansas, the daughter of Harold Ernest and Esther Jane (Thompson) Nichols. She graduated Welda High School in Welda, Kansas in 1954. She later went back to school and received a B.A. in Education from Washburn University in 1985. Charles West Waugh, Sr., of Eskridge, Kansas passed away at his home September 20, 2021. He was born May 26, 1930 the son of John Y. and Charlotte West Waugh. He grew up in Eskridge and also attended Gulfport Military Academy in Mississippi and Pembroke Country Day High School in Kansas City. He graduated from the University of Kansas in 1952 and the School of Law in 1956. Prior to attending Law School he served in the United States Army.
