John Thomas Stewart III of Lawrence, Kansas, passed peacefully Friday, December 6, 2024, at the age of 88. John was born February 16, 1936, in Wellington, Kansas, to John T. Stewart, Jr. and Ruth Jassoy Stewart. Ruth passed away from scarlet fever five days after his birth, leaving his father alone to raise a newborn. Grandparents, Herman and Louise Jassoy, took baby John into their home to assist with his upbringing. Herman passed away when John was seven, leaving Louise to care for John. At 13, he lost his father following an emergency surgery. John graduated from Wellington High School in 1954. Wayne Spencer, 86, of Prairie Village, KS, passed away on April 20th, 2024. Wayne was born on March 14, 1938 to Harold and Rosemary Spencer in Wichita, KS. After Wayne graduated from Manhattan High School in 1956, he went on to study Pre-Med at Kansas State University, graduating in 1960.
