Stephen Riley Asel, 70, formerly of Galveston, Texas, passed away December 1, 2023, in Liberty, Missouri. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Peggy Sue Assel; daughter, Donna Askren, of Kearney, MO; grandson, Joshua Oliver Pierce, of Knob Noster, MO; mother, June Assel; and siblings, Michael Assel, Judy Canaday, William Assel, Daniel Assel, Becky Elder, and Paul Negrini. Stephen was a firefighter in Galveston, Texas for ten years. He retired from Operating Engineers Local 101, KCMO.
