Hazel Ann Evans July 23, 1953 - February 15, 2025 Hazel was born and raised in Ulysses, Kansas. She was the daughter of Homer and Bertha (Bohling) Evans, who preceded her in death. Hazel is survived by her two sisters, Ethel Evans of Ulysses, KS and Tanja Harrison (Kelly Harrison) of Lawrence, KS, three nieces: Ashlee M. Wayne Edward Spellman, 77, died peacefully on December 6, 2024, with his wife, Sue, at his side. He was born August 28th, 1947, in Salina, Kansas to Paul and Irma Spellman of Gypsum, Kansas. He attended Gypsum grade and high schools and graduated with the Class of 1965. He was very active in sports. Wayne attended Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas graduating with his Bachelor of Arts in Finance in 1969. Kathryn Joyce Davis passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2024 at her home with her family by her side. Joyce was born September 22, 1931 in Lawrence, Kansas to Harold Clarence and Agnes Marion (Barton) Herschell. She grew up in the Clinton area, graduated from Liberty Memorial High School - Class of 1948 and attended KU majoring in PE. While at KU, Joyce participated in every women's sport offered. She also played on a traveling women's fast pitch softball team as their star catcher. Mary Clarice Sloan Mozingo, age 82, of Lawrence, KS, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2024, after a short battle with cancer. The third child of Eldon and Harriet Perry Sloan, Mary was born August 7, 1941, in Topeka, KS. She graduated from The Bishop's School in La Jolla, CA in 1959, attended Smith College in Northampton, MA, and graduated from the University of Kansas in 1963. She married John Charles Mozingo in 1965 and lived in Wichita, KS and later moved to Dallas, TX, where they adopted two children, Samuel Charles and Sarah Catherine. Ellen Vincent Martinez passed away on January 16th, surrounded by her loving family. She had suffered from a long illness. Ellen was born on November 14th, 1950 in Topeka Kansas to Jack Hathaway Vincent and Ethna Green Vincent. She was a 1968 graduate of Topeka West and attended Texans Women's University. It was as a student there that she met her devoted husband of 52 years, Ruperto Noe Martinez, on a blind date for a Texas A&M football game. On the morning of New Years Day 2023 Teresa Bratton Peterson left the world at the age of 64 years old. She leaves behind two children Nathan and Katie, mother Sue, brother Steve and his partner Skip and her former husband Steve. She is preceded in death by her dad, Charles, who undoubtedly welcomed her with open arms on the other side. A private celebration of life will be held for family and friends at a later date.

Dale Alan Enick, age 63, went to be with Jesus on Thursday December 1st at the University of Iowa Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was born in South Bend, Indiana to Frank and Frances "Fran" Enick. He grew up a couple blocks from Notre Dame and was a lifelong fan, especially of Fighting Irish football. He would ride his bike to the game and somehow talk his way into a free ticket many times. He graduated from John Adams High School and subsequently attended Ball State University. She was born October 30, 1940, in Lawrence, the daughter of Vernon and Agnes (Pine) Strobel. Lynn attended West Indianola Grade School and graduated from Seaman High School in Topeka in 1958. After high school, she attended Kansas State University for two years where she met Robert Bunker. Lynn married Robert Bunker in 1960. They later divorced, and he died in 2002. Sue Baur, 78, of Lawrence, KS, died Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at home. She was predeceased by her husband, Doug Baur, and is survived by daughter Cynthia Gibson of Greenville, SC; and daughter Christie Peterson, son-in-law Charles Peterson, and granddaughters Zoe Peterson and Kya Peterson, all of Oskaloosa, KS. Born in Painesville in 1943, Sue was the daughter of Robert Plummer and Eleanor Semple Plummer of Perry, and the younger sister of John Plummer. After graduating from the Perry Public School, Sue went on to Allegheny College in Meadville, PA, where she met Doug, and they embarked on a lifetime of travel and adventure.
