Gloria R. Patterson, age 88 of Reed City, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, August 17, 2024. She was born February 22, 1936 in Hersey the daughter of Hazel L. Carter. Gloria grew up in Hersey and during her youth worked at The Osceola Inn in Reed City. She married Don Patterson on July 17, 1954 and together they made their home in Reed City. Gloria joined her husband in his Floral Business where she worked for many years and was affectionately known as the "Corsage Queen." She was born February 10, 1959 in Reed City the daughter of the late Kenneth and Carman (Scharkey) Thiel. Jackie married Jordan Spedowski, a career airman in the United States Air Force. They were married on June 15, 1979 at K. I. Sawyer Air Force base in Michigan's upper peninsula. While there Jackie was a member of the Air Force Wives Club who provided necessities for young married airmen and their families. He was born in Chase, Michigan on October 8th, 1935 to Perry F Herring, Sr, and Tressa P (Rogers) Herring. Dale was married to Treva Francis Spaugh for nearly 60 years, who preceded him in death in 2016. He was also preceded in death by their beloved daughter, Michelle "Shelly," in 1985. Earl served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Cold War in Germany, Korea, and Vietnam wars. He retired as a Staff Sergeant after 28 years of service. Eloise Jean (Trayer) Barnikow, 81 of Mecosta, died Friday, June 11, 2021 in Grand Rapids. She was born August 24, 1939 in Gratiot County, the daughter of Orville and Lila (Brady) Wakley. Jean moved from Cadillac to Mecosta in 2014 to be closer to her daughter. She was known as the "Cookie Lady" at many farmers' markets.
