Alice was born February 11, 1946, in Sandersville, GA. She earned her associate's degree from Georgia Southern University and soon after met her husband of 54 years, Jim Logan of Savannah, GA. She was an active member of her church and Sunday school class as well as volunteered for 20 years at Candler Hospital. A graduate of Appalachian State University, she pursued a career in apparel design and marketing and worked at Oxford Industries in New York. She later enjoyed a career in the travel industry. Becky was a wonderfully talented and gifted individual who was artistic and creative. She was sensitive, loving, caring and kind, and never met a stranger. Ester Mae Case, age 89, passed peacefully away in the presence of her children on November 27. Mrs. Case was born Ester Mae Twiggs on August 11, 1931 to Walter Lewis and Lessie Simpson Twiggs in Dawsonville, Georgia. Ester had returned to Georgia six years ago but over her lifetime, she had been privileged to live in Indiana, Louisiana, South Carolina and Florida. Ester loved arts and crafts. Knitting, ceramics, macrame and oil painting were some of her favorite pastimes. Cooking and canning the crops she grew from her own gardens were never a chore but a pleasure that she shared with those she loved. She was born October 26, 1926, to Bert and Anna Hanouw of rural DeKalb County, Illinois, the youngest of 7 children. She graduated from Somonauk High School in 1944. She married Paul G. Frost December 12, 1947 and they were married for 65 years until his death in 2013. They spent most of their working years in Aurora, Illinois. They moved to the Jonesboro, Arkansas area in 1986 in hopes of escaping the long cold winters but yet able to get back to northern Illinois easily to see family and friends. Neil and Carolyn Swickard were taken far too soon from this life as a result of injuries sustained in a tragic automobile accident. Neil, age 76, and Carolyn, age 80, were originally from Frederick, Maryland and have been spending their retirement years in Ellabell, Georgia. Their retirement was filled with opportunities for Carolyn to tend to her flowers and Neil to spend time working in the yard on his tractor. Charles Kenneth Reber, Lieutenant Colonel (retired), U.S. Army, aged 77, died October 6, 2018 at Ogeechee Area Hospice with daughter, Kirsten beside him after a long battle with primary lateral sclerosis, a form of ALS, and a stroke. He often said that he did not want to be anything other than a soldier, and he was that, always a soldier. He was born on August 11, 1941 to an Army bandmaster on active duty in Abilene, Texas. Growing up in Oklahoma City, he attended the University of Oklahoma and graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in military science.
