Fredrick "Fred" Grudak, 91, of Murphy, North Carolina passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2022 in a Georgia hospital. Fred was born October 29, 1930 at home in Medway, Massachusetts to Henry and Catherine (Platita) Grudak. He worked the farm from an early age, using horses until they supplemented them with a tractor. He entered the Army and served from 1952-1954 and was stationed in Europe. Soon after returning home, he was introduced to the Love of his Life, Cynthia Charles, and married her on December 29, 1956, leading to over 65 years of marriage. Jeanette A. "Jean" Fridley, age 90, formerly of West Carrollton, Ohio and Port Charlotte, Florida, passed away December 29, 2021 at Union County Nursing Home, in Blairsville, Georgia. She was a switchboard operator for many years at Suntrust Bank and Trust and volunteered with the Homeless Coalition in Port Charlotte, Florida. She was born in Dayton, Ohio, and was the daughter of the late Eric and Frieda Rahn. She was preceded in death by her husband Jim Fridley. Joyce Galloway Curtis, 79, of Woodstock, GA, formerly of Hayesville, North Carolina passed away Monday, November 29, 2021. She was born November 24, 1942 in Knoxville, TN. Joyce spent some of her childhood in Canton, OH, where she held many fond memories for the rest of her life. She attended Hayesville High School and met her future husband, Farrell Curtis, there. Joyce and Farrell lived in Doraville, Acworth, and eventually settled in Woodstock, GA in 1979. Joyce worked for the IRS as a tax examiner. She was a native of Acworth, Georgia, but lived most of her life in Marietta, Georgia. She worked as a technical illustrator for Lockheed Martin for more than 30 years until retirement.
