Bowen Jr. She attended the University of Georgia where she earned a degree in Home Economics and later attended Graduate School at Georgia Southern College. She married the late J. Ray Newton in 1950, and they were married for 63 years. She loved her home in Millen where she lived most of her life. She enjoyed flowers and making her yard beautiful to share with others.
